Heaven Hill Distillery has announced the 16th release in the Parker’s Heritage Collection, Double Barreled Blend Bourbon.
Parker’s Heritage Collection Double Barreled Blend is comprised of 67% 13 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and 33% 15 year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, both distilled from Heaven Hill Distillery’s traditional Bourbon mashbill of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley. The 13 year old Bourbon, from barrels produced in December 2008, was aged on the 5th-7th floors of Rickhouse Q and then re-barreled into new American white oak barrels with a level three char for four weeks. The 13 year old Bourbon was then blended with the 15 year old Bourbon, from barrels produced in January 2007 and aged on the 2nd and 5th floors of Rickhouse II, before being bottled NCF (non-chill filtered) at a barrel proof of 132.2 (66.1% ABV).
Parker’s Heritage Collection Double Barreled Blend is described as “oak forward” on the nose, with “hints of butterscotch and caramel.” The palate exhibits “a balance of spice notes, sweetness, and slight oak tannins,” concluding with a “long and warm” finish of “dark chocolate, baking spices, and white pepper.”
Parker’s Heritage Collection Double Barreled Blend will be available in limited quantities beginning in early December at a suggested retail price of $174.99 for a 750 mL bottle.
