Just in time for Christmas, Lidl GB has unveiled a Ben Bracken, 19-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43% ABV) for only £39.99.
A perfect gift for the whisky lover in your life, this limited edition dram is only available in stores while stocks last.
Blair Bowman, Scotland’s leading whisky expert and founder of World Whisky Day was among the first to sip this brand-new malt ahead of it launching in stores.
He noted the nose of salty and sweet smoke, fruity, spiced flavours and long, lingering finish.
Blair commented: “This is another cracker of a whisky from Lidl. It’s rich, fruity, and sooty, best served by a roaring fireplace on a cold, winter’s night. You can’t go wrong with this warming, wintery malt.
“The bright amber liquid has a nose reminiscent of indulgent s’mores, with malty digestives and marshmallows, while the palette features dark chocolate and lashings of black cherry jam.”
Known as “The Queen of the Hebrides”, Islay is famed for a smoky, peaty style of whisky, which comes from malting barley over burning peat.
Lidl’s Ben Bracken gives you an ideal opportunity to sample this Scottish delicacy, at a fraction of the price.
Lidl last released its Islay Ben Bracken (and 18 year old) in November 2021, and it proved to be a sell out success.
Lidl has also seen awards success with its whiskies, as its Abrachan Blended Peated Malt received gold in the blended malt up to £20 category at the 2021 Scotch Whisky Masters.
