Newest Adds to Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Current Playlist (#107)

The Saving Country Music Top 25 Playlist is built to keep you informed on all the best songs and albums coming out right here, right now in country and roots music. It’s available on most all streaming formats (see below), or you can just use the song, artist, and album recommendations to find something new to listen to. New songs just added.

Newest Additions:

Luke Bell – “Sometimes” – There is a reason this is called the SCM Top 25 CURRENT Playlist. But even though this song is six years old, Luke Bell is one of the hottest names currently in country music at the moment. So in honor of Luke, who better to lead off the playlist? Many point to “The Bullfighter” or “Where Ya Been?” as his best songs, but “Sometimes” has always embodied the essence of Luke Bell the best. RIP Luke Bell.

Ward Davis – “Another Bad Apple” – Former Saving Country Music Album of the Year Winner Ward Davis (2020’s Black Cats & Crows) is back with a new song, and no, this isn’t some introspective weeper. “Another Bad Apple” is a celebration of being bad, and if you like the tune, check out the video too, it’s a hoot.

Courtney Patton – “Casualty” – Courtney Patton has a new album coming out on October 7th called Electrostatic. And if you want a sneak peek into the type of quality songwriting she’s known for—and how to successfully accomplish an emotional crescendo in a song—“Casualty” is the perfect example.

Emily Nenni – “On The Ranch” – Here’s your opportunity to onboard with Emily Nenni, who will be releasing her new album On The Ranch on November 4th. Having played a multitude of sets at Robert’s Western World in Nashville, her songs have that sound that only comes from being seasoned in authentic honky-tonks. You can hear this in her title track.

Memphis Kee – “Anabelle” – From Austin, TX, Memphis Kee is getting ready to release a new album produced by the sixth member of Mike and the Moonpies, Adam Odor. Recorded down in Wimberley, TX at Odor’s Yellow Dog Studios, the lead single “Anabelle” reminds you of the rambunctious days of Austin country rock, or as the band calls it, “shred dirt.”

Adam and Amy Pope – “Playing Patsy” – Traveling husband and wife duo Adam and Amy Pope have turned in this stellar little classic country tune paying tribute to Patsy and the timeless theme of heartache that’s just screaming for attention from classic country fans.

Felicity Urquhart, Josh Cunningham – “Bogswamp” – Who’s up for a little country music from Western Australia? It’s always fun to check in with what the Aussies are doing, and Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham are doing something pretty darn cool with this song inspired by their native landscape, and ripe for singing along to.

The Panhandlers – “Where Cotton Is King” – No ladies and gentlemen, the Panhandlers weren’t just a lark. The supergroup of Texans consisting of Josh Abbott, William Clark Green, songwriter John Baumann, and Cleto Cordero of Flatland Cavalry have been back in the studio, and this is their first taste of new music since their highly-regarded debut album.
