Lux Row is releasing a new whiskey that’s … old.
As in Old Ezra 7-Year Straight Rye Whiskey. It’s the latest from the Bardstown-based distiller behind the award-winning Ezra Brooks brand family: Old Ezra 7-Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey won “Best Overall Bourbon” at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Wondering where to buy this new bottle? The limited release of 3,000 cases will hit store shelves this month across the country with a suggested retail price of $79.99.
It’s a blend of two rye mashbills, one 51 percent rye whiskey and the other 95 percent rye whiskey, and is aged a full seven years. It’s bottled at 114 proof to deliver a full complex flavor.
“With Old Ezra 7-Year Straight Rye Whiskey, we’ve delivered a rye whiskey worthy of the Old Ezra label,” said Lux Row Distillers master distiller John Rempe. “This tasty 7-year-old rye offers slightly sweet and oaky tones with hints of vanilla and honey, and it finishes with a warm touch of spice and tobacco. It’s certain to become a favorite among both rye fans and fans of the Ezra Brooks brand family.”
Lux Row opened in Spring 2018 and also is home to Rebel, Blood Oath, David Nicholson and Daviess County brands.
Lux Row is one of four distilleries in the MGP/Luxco portfolio that also includes the Lebanon, Ky., distillery Limestone Branch, which makes Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
