With summer winding down, we’ve got another list of beers to check out before the warm weather’s gone.

This week’s list is varied, with a mix of different styles and ABVs to choose from. You’ve got an easy drinking pilsner and a matching Märzen, a classic New England IPA, a lemon and honey fruited sour, a peanut butter and chocolate standout amber ale, and a hefty, barrel aged baltic porter to round out the top end.

This brew is a personal favorite of mine. Broad Brook Brewing hit the nail on the head with their seasonal Märzen: simple, refreshing, with the right profile to get your mouth watering for more.

“Marzen-Style Lager! Brewed with a blend of Munich-Style Malts producing a light amber color & sweetness complemented by Noble Hops.”

The name likely catches your attention first and foremost, but Counter Weight’s juicy IPA has a lot to love. You’ll taste a mix of citrusy and pineapple notes along with a classic hop presence.

“The flavor of this Mosaic hop focused American IPA is big on pineapple, hoppy dankness, along with some nice tangerine notes.”

While it’s certainly the highest ABV brew on the list this week, Fox Farm’s Echos is one you won’t want to miss. It’s everything you’ll love in a dark with an added layer of complexity from time spent in Buffalo Trace whiskey barrels.

“Brewed in July 2020, we designed Echos with the intention of presenting core qualities from our high-gravity, spirit barrel-aged beers in a format that delights and surprises in its drinkability. Made with a carefully assembled blend of base and specialty malts from a range of our suppliers (spanning Germany, UK and US), wildflower honey from @stonewallapiary and hopped with some favorite German varietals. We fermented this one low and slow with our lager yeast and cold conditioned in stainless for 8-weeks before transferring a portion (~60%) to Buffalo Trace barrels. The stainless and oak-aged components were blended back together prior to packaging early this year.”

With summer still sticking around, a crisp, refreshing pilsner is on the menu. Kent Falls has a simple and delicious brew ready for your palette!

“German inspired pilsner. Made with Northeastern grown Endeavor barley.”

The folks over at Luppoleto have a brand new brew on tap if you’re looking for something fruity and sweet. Limonzeen is fermented with lemonand local honey and clocks in at a solid 6%.

“Sour Ale fermented with Lemon Peel & Local Honey.”

This brew from Witchdoctor is one of a kind. It takes your standard American Red Ale and throws in a mix of chocolate and peanut butter, bringing a sweeter, more dessert-esque taste to your palette.
