Crown Royal Blended Canadian Whisky was first introduced in Canada in 1939 to commemorate the royal visit of England’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, who were touring the country that year. The tour, which also included an historically groundbreaking visit to the U.S. at the invitation of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, marked the first time anyone from the reigning British monarchy had visited Canada or the United States.

Canada’s Crown Royal wasn’t offered in America or internationally until 1964, at which time it was well received and quickly gained in popularity among whisky enthusiasts for its approachability and smoothness.

Similar to the success of Crown Royal’s flagship whisky, Crown Royal Peach Flavored Whisky also received a welcome reception when it was initially released nearly a century later in 2019. In fact, some retailers reportedly had a hard time keeping it on the shelves, which led to limiting the number of bottles customers were allowed to purchase to two at a time in some U.S. locations.

With its bottling at 70 proof, Crown Royal Peach Flavored Whisky is accessible to a wider audience and is ideal for mixing in cocktails. This Canadian whisky is produced at the Crown Royal Distilling Company in Gimli, Manitoba using Crown Royal’s unique column distillation process and meticulous whisky blending methods. Crown Royal Peach is a blend of whiskies, which are specially selected by Gimli distillery’s master blender, that have been infused with fresh Georgia peach flavor.

Around 80% of the grains used in Crown Royal’s whiskies are sourced from Manitoba and nearby provinces. Other expressions in Crown Royal’s Flavor Series include Crown Royal Regal Apple, Crown Royal Vanilla, and Crown Royal Salted Caramel.

In a prepared statement Sophie Kelly, Senior Vice President of Whisk(e)y at Diageo North America said, “As a leader in the whisky business, Crown Royal continues to take pride in ensuring we are ahead of the trends and creating high-quality products that help feed whisky drinkers’ desire to experiment.”

Crown Royal Peach Flavored Whisky was first released by the Crown Royal Distilling Company as a limited edition expression in early Spring of 2019. It was re-released in 2020 for the summer season due to its high demand and is now available year round.
